Welcome to Liminal! We’ve come together to create this magazine as a celebration of creativity and self-expression, by high school students. High school can be challenging, as we’re caught between our old childhood selves and the people we’re becoming. Sometimes, it feels like we’re walking through a doorway that never ends. Liminal is about capturing precious moments while we’re finding ourselves in the in-between stages of our lives.

The name Liminal refers to a transitional stage, which perfectly reflects where we are now. Not children, but not quite adults either, we’re all finding ourselves in this messy, chaotic middle. And there’s something strangely wonderful about this space, isn’t there? We hope these pages can be a break from the chaos of high school life, from tests to college apps to everyday drama, and give you a chance to breathe, reflect, and maybe even see pieces of yourself.

To all the artists, writers, dreamers, and lovers of art out there, we invite you to join us! Submit your work, share your ideas, or simply take inspiration from what you find here, this is your space, too. Together, let’s take a walk and get a little lost in these pages. You’re not alone in the in-between, we’re all figuring it out as we go.
